We have chosen to do this to honour both the extraordinary bravery loved ones showed in the face of this cruellest of illnesses and the excellent support provided to them by Marie Curie Cancer Care. 

We will be doing Everest Base Camp in October 2017. The challenge is to hike 190 kilometres up to the base camp and back. We will be taking the Salleri trekking route which is the alternative to flying directly to Lukla. The trek will take us in the footsteps of the early Himalayan expeditions’ original route pioneers’, when they trekked to Everest Base Camp, before Lukla airport was built. The route is longer but will give us sufficient time for acclimatization. The whole challenge is self-funded, we are paying the full cost of the expedition: flight, accommodation, food and activities. The money you give will go straight to Marie Curie Cancer Care.
