In 2019 PwC decided to tackle the biggest issue affecting communities in Northern Ireland, that being suicide. Since then PwC have been funding The Hummingbird Project to support a group of vulnerable young people, all of which had been homeless, living in a hostel. They all had come through either the care system, prison or from broken homes, but all had experienced childhood trauma. When they started the programme some of the problems they faced included drug and alcohol addictions, debt, family breakdown, unemployment and abuse. There are currently 16 people on the programme and at least 10 would have taken their own life if it wasn't for the intensive support they receive from the folks at The Hummingbird Bird project. The Into Tomorrow Programme is transforming and saving the lives of the most vulnerable people living in our society.
