Bliss is the leading UK charity for babies born premature or sick. We rely on donations to fund our work but with one baby admitted to neonatal care every five minutes we don’t have the resources to reach every baby who needs us. Your donation can help Bliss ensure every baby gets the best care.

Story

Hi there! I will be taking part in my first full distance triathlon, over a weekend in October. I will be doing this in memory of my wonderful friend, Chloe Walker who sadly passed away in June 2021.

My Mega Triathlon Weekend

I have only ever done sprint distance triathlons and tried a marathon back in 2015, but I have never gone near those kinds of distances... until now! It is safe to say this is going to be quite the challenge!!

  1. Swim - Swimming pier to pier to pier in Blackpool - 2.4 miles
  2. Bike - Cycling Blackpool to York  - 112 miles
  3. Run - Running the organised Yorkshire Marathon in York - 26.2 miles

*Please note- Distances have changed to 112 miles Blackpool to York via a hillier route to get me there in time for the marathon* However we have the redbull time lapse to make up the original miles.

When? My long course weekend is the 15th, 16th and 17th October.

I will be raising money for Bliss charity chosen by Chloe's husband Dan, as it is a charity we believe she would support. I hope to do Chloe proud, who would no doubt call me bonkers for even taking this on! :)

About Bliss Charity

Every 5 minutes, a baby is admitted to neonatal care in the UK.Bliss is the leading UK charity for babies born premature or sick. They rely on donations to fund their work, and without our help they won't be able to reach the 100,000 babies needing neonatal care each year.

Your donation to my page will help Bliss to drive improvements in neonatal care, to ensure that the needs of babies are at the heart of policy and planning for the future, and to provide information and support to all families with a baby born premature or sick.
