Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page

I decided to run the half in 2019 after watching my sister running it  and my boys turning round to me and asking “if Auntie Weeze can do it why don’t you”

I signed up to run the 2020 half marathon which now takes place in September.

Myself and my sister (Louise Farnsworth) are running the Sheffield Half Marathon to raise money for Jessops Neonatal.

My wife and I have 4 boys, George (12), Harry (11), Charlie (7) and Jake (2  come race day), all born at Jessops Wing.

The staff each time were amazing especially so with Jake who was born prematurely,  grey and lifeless and  needed help with his breathing for the first 10 minutes of his life, and then 16 hours of specialist care followed by days of antibiotics and care. Without the staff at Jessops there is a real possibility he might not be here now.

I can’t put into words the terrifying experience of Jakes birth nor can I truly explain how wonderful the staff were or how thankful we are but I can run 13.1 miles and try to raise some money as a way of saying thank you.

Please dig deep.

About the charity

We help Sheffield’s hospitals, community teams and health and social care services to cover costs their NHS budgets can’t. We fund support for patients and staff, life-changing research and more, so that we can enhance care from birth to the end of life and everything in between.
