24 hour charity walk

24 Hour Walk · 5 April 2021
Alzheimer’s walk
Hi guys
On the 10th May, me and 2 of my mates, Conner and James are going to be doing a 24 hour sponsored walk this April or early may for the Alzheimer’s society charity.
It will be approximately 50-60 miles of walking in 24 hours, with small breaks to change clothing & supplies etc.
The reasoning for doing this is because my grandad and other family members have suffered and suffer from Alzheimer’s disease and as a result of this cruel disease he has unfortunately developed dementia.
Dementia is a general term for a decline in mental ability severe enough to interfere with daily life. Alzheimer’s is the most common cause of dementia. Alzheimer’s is a specific disease. Dementia is not.
There is no cure as of yet for either Alzheimer’s or dementia and there are approximately 54 million people in the world living with dementia.
Any kind of donation big or small would go to a great cause in ensuring every person affected by dementia is looked after properly and go towards fund research and improving the care and support needed.
Thank-you
