HEINEKEN Race to the Tower 2019 · 8 June 2019 to 9 June 2019 ·

I will be taking on the tower in a 52.4 mile double marathon through the Cotswolds finishing at Broadway Tower to raise money for local medical charity Cobalt. The race takes place 8-9 June 2019.

Story

Cobalt is a medical charity helping people affected by cancer, dementia and other conditions. They believe everyone should have access to the best medical imaging for their diagnosis. They invest in equipment, research and education. Each year they provide diagnostic imaging for over 65,000 patients at Cobalt Imaging Centre in Cheltenham, the ITM Imaging Centre in Birmingham and with a fleet of six mobile MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) scanners that travel throughout the UK. As well as cancer, the equipment is able to assist in the detection of illnesses such as dementia including Alzheimers. They offer free training and education courses on a local, national and international basis for doctors and healthcare professionals, ensuring their experience and research work is widely shared. Donations received help fund scanning and diagnosis, research, prevention, specialised nursing posts and cancer facilities for local people.
