On Friday 18th September 2026, Jamie Richards, CEO of AEDdonate, and Joe Dean will take on a 20-mile charity walk around Stone, Staffordshire, raising funds to help keep community defibrillators rescue ready, support CPR and Defibrillator Awareness training, and make our local communities safer.

Throughout the day, Jamie and Joe will walk between public access defibrillators across Stone, carrying out routine checks, speaking to local communities and highlighting the importance of maintaining these life-saving devices. Every defibrillator they visit has the potential to save a life if someone suffers a sudden cardiac arrest.

The challenge isn't just about walking 20 miles. It's about raising awareness, educating the community and ensuring that more people know where their nearest defibrillator is and how to use it.

As part of the challenge, Jamie and Joe will also visit a local school to deliver a free CPR and Defibrillator Awareness session, helping young people gain the confidence to act in an emergency. Research shows that immediate CPR and early defibrillation can dramatically improve survival following a cardiac arrest, making education just as important as the equipment itself.

Why We're Raising Money

Every year, more than 30,000 people suffer an out of hospital sudden cardiac arrest in the UK, yet fewer than 1 in 10 survive.

When someone has a cardiac arrest, every second counts. Without immediate CPR and access to a public access defibrillator, the chance of survival falls by around 10% for every minute that passes.

That's why AEDdonate is committed to ensuring that community defibrillators in Stone and the surrounding areas remain maintained, registered and ready for use whenever they are needed.

The money raised through Jamie and Joe's challenge will help us:

Maintain community defibrillators across Stone and Staffordshire.

Replace expired pads and batteries.

Repair and replace damaged defibrillator cabinets.

Carry out routine maintenance and safety checks.

Register new defibrillators with the local ambulance service.

Deliver free CPR and Defibrillator Awareness training in schools, workplaces and community groups.

Support new community defibrillator projects throughout Staffordshire.
