Plod to Portman · 31 March 2022

We care for children & young people with life-threatening conditions across Cambs, Essex, Norfolk & Suffolk and support their families. This can be at home, in hospital or at one of three hospices at Milton, The Treehouse and The Nook. We rely on voluntary donations for the majority of our income.

Story

On 31st March 2022, I will be walking from Cambridge United FC's Abbey Stadium to Ipswich Town FC's Portman Road ground to raise money for the EACH charity (East Anglia's Children's Hospices).

The route I intend to take will keep me walking for about 60 miles over 2 days, leaving me a short "Plod to Portman Road" for the ITFC v CUFC game on Saturday 2nd April.

Although I don't have a story to tell or experience using the EACH, I don't think it's necessary to explain why such an important local charity requires as many donations as possible, especially after the past couple of years.

With the charity's close links to both clubs, I thought this was the ideal opportunity for both sets of supporters to unite in raising money to help families in both counties.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
