EVERY 90 SECONDS someone in the UK is admitted to hospital with an acquired brain injury (ABI). There are many possible causes, such as a fall, a road traffic accident, an assault, a tumour or a stroke. A brain injury can happen to anyone, at any time. When it does, we're here to help

Story

I work with individuals who have had an Acquired/Traumatic Brain Injury. One of the guys I support, John is walking up Snowdon and I am supporting him to do this. Please see Johns story below.

"I am a former Grenadier Guardsman who was shot in the head whilst serving in Afghanistan which resulted in the following injuries:

Loss of right eye, being paralysed down the left side of my body and I lost part of the right side of my head, which has left me with an Acquired Brain Injury. I have had the right side of my head reconstructed and after 5 years of rehabilitation I have gone from not being able to walk and using a wheelchair to being able to walk and I feel that this will be a massive challenge as I still cant use my left arm and have problems down my left side."

John is raising money for The Colonels Fund Grenadier Guards Who have supported him along his journey. I am raising money for Headway the Brain Injury Association which is a national charity for individuals who have an Acquired or Traumatic brain injury.

Any donations will be greatly appreciated.
