Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Through October, I'll be doing a daily sprint triathlon to raise money for the Oncology Centre at Worcestershire Royal Hospital, where I work as a Therapeutic Radiographer. The 31 day challenge will involve completing a:
- 750m swim
- 20km bike ride (cumulative)
- 5km run
This will equate to 23.25km of swimming, 620km of cycling and 155km of running.
All money raised will go towards the services offered at Worcester Oncology Centre.
As a Therapeutic Radiography, I work as part of a team to scan, plan and deliver radiotherapy treatment to cancer patients across the region. As part of my challenge I am hoping to promote the benefits of exercise and staying active, which can be as simple as cycling or walking to work instead of driving.
Evidence suggests that exercise is beneficial for patients undergoing active cancer treatments and MacMillan are running a 'Move More' campaign, which goes into this in more depth. You can view details for the on their website.
I will be posting updates throughout October and you can track the progress of my challenge on Strava.
