Story

I’ve decided to ride from my home in Crawley up to Clapham Common, to then ride London to Brighton with British Heart Foundation. Then cycle back to Crawley. What a way to remember Father’s Day, an epic 110 mile adventure, raising awareness for a good cause.

My father-in-law passed away last year from a heart attack, and my grandfather passed away on the exact same day, with his heart clocking off for the very last time with old age.

Father’s Day will be hard this year for my wife and my mum, and family members, but I wanted to do something for a good cause. If you can donate a few quid, it would be hugely appreciated.

I haven’t been on my bike much this year, and to be totally honest, haven’t raced or ridden much on my bike since qualifying for British Triathon’s Age Group Team in October 2023. Double Covid within 6 months took a big toll on my fitness.

However, this ride is helping me bring back my ride fitness and the rediscovering the joy of riding outside.

The BHF fund around £100 million of research each year into all heart and circulatory diseases and the things that cause them. Heart diseases. Stroke. Vascular dementia. Diabetes. They're all connected, and they're all under our microscope.Thousands of people every year are helped through the research we do.
