Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

7:30/45pm Friday 20th April i am shaving all my hair off. Help me raise £500! All the donation will go to The British Heart Foundation.

It will be done live on Facebook, and posted afterwards. This is being supported by SalonVIP. The owners Tracey and Chris Radcliffe are very supportive and hosting it.

The reason for why i am doing this, some of you may already be aware. It has been a rough year and it has changed my life, and my families from the loss of my Dad Neil Smith. I am unable to do a fancy skydive, or a bungee jump or even fire walking!! So the next thing i can think of which means a lot to me, as you may notice by my many hairstyles! Is give up my hair :0

Reason why i chose the Charity i did:

May 2017 my Dad suddenly passed he was only 45 years old, i would like to say after the medical issues he suffered in the years leading to his passing would of meant we expected it. However, we all thought he was on the mend! And it came as a shock to everyone who knew my Dad. 2 years before my Dad passed, he suffered with a couple of strokes. One being sat in A&E early hours of the morning with me. Neither of us knew at the time this was happening! Fortunately he survived through these, although they left my Dad in a fragile condition and changed not only his mental outlook on life but he had physical difficulties which took a toll on his way of life and work. Following this my Dad became a shadow of himself. The medical reason was an ongoing mystery which meant many hospital visits, blood pressure checks and emotional boundaries broken. My Dads heart failed and gave up one evening when he was fixing something outside, he passed away in the country under the stars.

I miss my Dad immensely, The family have supported each other through the process and have grown closer than ever before.

My Dad had many signs that he was unwell, before the strokes and before his death. I choose to raise money for the Heart Foundation to help fight heart conditions. They aren’t always found, and can sometimes be avoided. So, together i am hoping we can help improve the live of maybe a baby born with a heart defect or someone’s Dad who is suffering.

Thank You in advance to anyone who supports me, and has an input in this charity event . It means a huge amount to me. I also like to give my love to my family and friends who support this. <3

The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target. Thanks!
