John's Western Isles Run - Barra to the Butt of Lewis (150 miles)

In 2012, my father John O'Connor was cared for at end of life by the wonderful team at Bethesda hospice in Stornoway. Prior to that my father in law, Ernie Hughson was similarly cared for at Bethesda. I said at the time that I would love to do some fund raising for the hospice and now as I reach my 60th birthday and retirement, I have the time and opportunity, and hopefully the energy, to make the big run from Barra to the Butt in the hope of raising some sponsorship. This is a re-run of the challenge that Derek Morrison did back in the 1980s (he went from North to South). The plan is to start from Castlebay on Tuesday 29th August and over the next 4-5 days run approximately 30 miles a day until we reach the Butt. I'd like to extend a welcome to anybody who would like to run all or part of the route with me. I will have vehicle support from Anne so I don't have to carry all my gear with me and can just concentrate on the running. Should be a blast! Any sponsorship support via this just giving page would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much in advance :).
