Story

The Help for Heroes Angkor Wat Trek 2018 will be a huge challenge for me in March 2018. I will be doing this with a small group of fellow trekkers including band of brothers & sisters  who I haven't even met yet. It won't be a walk in the park, as we'll be doing day long treks in hot sun & camping out or sleeping in local monastaries. With limited toilets if any or just a hole in the ground and a shower will be a bucket of water.

🙈 walking up 8/9 hours a day. This will be in above 36'c heat or higher & 99% humidity.

It will be a struggle for many reasons but the reason I'm doing It will get me through it.

I am a local volunteer for Help for Heroes and am fund raising for the challenge, but will be self funding all extra costs, such as registration fee, fuel surcharge, vaccinations, travel insurance, all kit and visa costs & any short fall in target to raise will be payed by myself.

As well as this, I am raising money for the Help for Heroes charity to try to  help our serving forces, veterans & their families who are struggling with both physical & mental health problems 😢Help for Heroes do such an amazing job & support the whole family & continue to support them as long as they need it .

I lost a close friend in 2016, who served his country for 24years and suffered Depression & PTSD, after leaving the army so struggled with this over the years . Sadly he didn't ask for the right help  & took his own life in August 2016

He supported Help for Heroes charity by wearing his H4H wrist  bands and t shirts and hoodies & also had just finished a combat stress 22day press up challenge just before he died 😢

Like many in the armed services they don't want to ask for help & it's a sign of weakness .This shouldn't be the case but it is 😢

This is a small give back to our forces, who risk their lives and bodies to serve & protect our country. I've been inspired by this to raise awareness & fundraise for Help for Heroes, by pushing my boundaries after a really difficult year its to find me again & fill a huge void .

I can't get my best friend back, but maybe  I can help others struggling to get the help & support they deserve.

Please support me and donate with anything you can, as this challenge is really outside my comfort zone for many reasons, but I'm stubborn & won't give up or let anyone down.

With your help we can give a little bit back and support our forces past, present & future.

Thank you for your continued support to myself with my crazy fundraising ideas and challenges  & your continues  support for Help for Heroes charity.

Please if you can donate or sponsor me anything it would be amazing.

Xxx Jules
