Story

In loving memory of our beautiful friend Kaiya who sadly passed away on 13th January 2019 - Mia, Anya, Anoushka, Siya, Radha and Amaya, her adoring friends and classmates are donating their hair to the Little Princess Trust and hoping to raise a substantial amount of money for this deserving charity.

During the course of 9 months, Kaiya not only fought a rare and aggressive form of Leukaemia, she also fought an incredible battle against the adenovirus she contracted post-transplant. She kicked Cancer’s ass and she brought about a change in a drug protocol that means that other kids with adenovirus will not suffer the same fate as her. She inspired in excess of 40,000 people to become potential life-savers, consequentially saving the lives of many and she united communities here in the U.K and throughout the world to work together to reach a common goal. In her name, thousands have been raised for charities she supported. In November, she won the Anthony Nolan John Petchey Young Hero award for bravery. She was only 6 years old.

As a result of her treatment, Kaiya lost her hair, which as you can imagine, must have been terrifying. One of her highlights (and ours) through her gruelling journey was to receive a wig from the Little Princess Trust, completely free of charge and specially matched to her hair colour, which she wore with great pride. We believe it gave her a sense of normality again and she looked more like the Kaiya we knew and loved. A true princess warrior in every sense of the word.

There are so many children out there that crave that tiny piece of normality, a wig can help do just that but at a cost of £350-£500 per wig and no formal funding, the Little Princess Trust needs your help.

Kaiya’s wish was to save all the children with the same affliction as hers, one of her quotes upon hearing that they had found a donor and she would be having a transplant was:

“But let’s not tell anyone, in case it means the drives stop and other children don’t get donors”

Please dig deep for Kaiya’s warrior princesses in their quest to support this amazing charity in the name of their brave and inspirational friend, Kaiya Patel – the original Warrior Princess.

We love and miss you Kaiya, this one is for you!
