Story
So....we have decided to run (hopefully) a marathon, because who doesn't love a scary, unrealistic, but exhilarating challenge....right?!
The motivation to do this exciting and enormous challenge has come from the wonderfully inspiration Samantha Issacson, who Kate became friends with at University. Sam has been kicking cancers butt since she was diagnosed at the age of 25 with terminal bowel cancer. Sam is now 29 and has recently finished her 80th bout of chemo. Sam has also received additional treatment called SIRT which has been deemed successful. Since Sams diagnosis she has travelled the world, continued to play for her beloved football team Fulbourn FC and has inspired people to fundraise £40,000 for Addenbrookes Charitable Trust ACT.
For both Sarah and I the biggest challenge we could face is completing a marathon, so here goes! At Sams request we are thrilled to be joining the Bowel Cancer UK team and we hope you are inspired by Sam and our crazy antics leading up to, what will hopefully be a successful 26mile run in London on the 28th April 2019....we are almost there!
If you are interested in seeing where we get our motivation, please visit Sams blog where you can follow her journey iwasntexpectingthat.com
PLEASE keep visiting this page and looking out for updates on social media leading up to the 28th April, as we will keep you posted about our progress (embarrassing pics to be included). We appreciate that you will no doubt already support charities, but we hope you enjoy following our journey and can learn about the fantastic work Bowel Cancer UK are doing to support anyone in need and more importantly a charity that Sam has requested we run for.
