Keith was exposed to asbestos as a teenager during his apprenticeship as a ship builder at the Chatham Naval Dockyard. 60 years later he was diagnosed with mesothelioma, an asbestos related cancer.

He finally succumbed to the disease after a year long fight. In the end it took away his strength, his voice and his joy.
