Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On the 27th May this year I have decided to take One Giant Leap against dementia and tandem skydive from 10,000 feet! I am taking on this challenge in honour of my dear old friend Brian and my mother-in-law Gill, who is Grandmother to my 2 beautiful children. Both unfortunately have vascular dementia. In the last 10 years I have watched the vascular dementia develop, resulting in Gill having to move into a specialist home 5 years ago. Watching the vascular dementia gradually take hold of Gill has been a very harrowing and heartbreaking experience for my wife and all of Gill's family. Hearing my 4 year old son say 'Grandma doesn't know what she is talking about does she?', has spurred me on to want to take on a challenge of a lifetime (I am terrified of flying & heights!), whilst raising money to support research and the people affected by dementia.
