Story
Hi folks. Thank you for taking the time to read my page. I am absolutely delighted to be running the Belfast Marathon this year for Muscular Dystrophy UK! This is a charity that is very close to my heart. My inspiration comes from my cousin Claire’s amazing son Luke. Luke has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and he and his mummy are two of the most inspirational people I know. Luke is the happiest wee man and I never see him without a smile on his face. He is such a positive young cub and lives life to the fullest. His mummy Claire works tirelessly to ensure Luke has the best possible life. Wee Luke gives me the motivation to keep running. I am so happy to be able to raising money for this very worthy cause.
Taking part in the Belfast Marathon has always been a dream of mine and I will be training hard and doing my utmost to hit my fundraising target for Muscular Dystrophy UK.
Training is going very well. We're about 8 weeks out for the marathon now, and as of this Friday (08/03/24), I'm at 20 miles! I've been doing my long runs on Friday mornings, leaving my house at 4am, braving all of the elements!
