IN LOVING MEMORY OF MICHAEL JOHN MADIGAN 27/06/1956 – 10/12/2017
As some of you may be aware not only did I lose my father and best friend to Motor Neurone Disease in December 2017.
Motor neurone disease (MND) is a progressive disease that attacks the motor neurones, or nerves, in the brain and spinal cord. This means messages gradually stop reaching muscles, which leads to weakness and wasting. MND is a terminal illness, which only allows between 3-5 years survival in the majority of its victims.
My father, just aged 60 left behind his beloved Wife of 44 years and his 3 children and grandchild. My dad was misdiagnosed with another illness early on but after many months of unsuccessful treatment and rapid deterioration in health, the devastating news was given to us in March 2017 that in fact he had Motor Neurone Disease. As a family we looked after him, he could not walk, wash, feed himself and in the end could not breathe, he had Pneumonia as a result of MND. My dad was the true hero and passed away peacefully on 10th December 2017
I can honestly say this was the most devastating experience, my family and I have ever been through, watching my dad fade away each day to this horrific disease will live with me forever. ; MND truly shows no mercy and takes a piece of you each day. People who are diagnosed with MND need specialist treatment, round the clock care and equipment.
Therefore, to support MND association in supporting others fighting this battle as well as in loving memory of my father I will be doing a 15,000ft sky dive on 08 December 2019. I would love you all to support the foundation and myself and in my father’s memory. All the funds raised will be diagnosed to this fantastic charity, anything you could spare I would be muchly appreciated.
Many Thanks
Lee (Michael’s Son)
