Florence was diagnosed with DDH when she was 15 months old after a routine visit to the health visitor. Within 8 weeks she had undergone surgery to reposition her left hip and hopefully begin her journey to healthy hips! She has now been in a Spica cast for 7 weeks and has adapted amazingly well through the love and support shown to her by her family, friends and charities. Seeing Florence and the way she has dealt with her hip journey so far has inspired us to give something back , not only to charity but also to many other families that may face journey. The purpose of Flo's Hippy Hike is not only to raise money but also awareness of the signs and symptoms of DDH as well as the importance of early diagnosis.

We have chosen to raise money for Steps charity because from the first contact with them they have offered support and information on the condition DDH. When I was concerned about what to expect then they were able to offer advice and when we were unsure how to look after Flo's Spica cast they offered expert guidance.From lists on what to pack for hospital to how to transport Flo in the car they were always at the end of the phone.
