In May 2019 my dad came out of hospital after having a ‘funny turn’ at home and we went straight to being told these would be his final weeks. His lung cancer had spread to his bones and brain and he wanted to be at home. St Leonard’s hospice at home team helped organise everything he needed to be comfortable and provided my mum and me with exceptional support and anyone who knows me knows I like to ask a lot of questions, the beautiful ladies answered every question I had truthfully which looking back was fundamental in helping me understand the process that was happening and ultimately preparing me for what was going to happen.

I can’t express enough how much my mum and I appreciated EVERYTHING they did for us in those 6 weeks and on the 4th July at 10 to 1 my dad took his final breath with us by his side.
