Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
After being at home for the last couple of weeks (same as many other people) I have been thinking a lot about wanting to give something back to a very worthy cause.
In the back of my mind I have always thought a lot about wanting to become a paramedic, and many people have told me to go for it...however, at the end of last year I got a call from my doctors to say I have a very low immune system, something called Immunoglobulin A defiency, it is a genetic immunodefiency...meaning I lack a type of antibody that protects me from many infections. So this has made me a bit more wary of becoming a paramedic as I cannot afford to get poorly so often! (people who know me, know that I really do catch any infections going, and that is with me being in contact with pretty much the same people throughout the week!)
So this is why I have decided to take on a VERY tough challenge...a 14 day cycle; in my garden on my exercise bike. I am cycling from my home in Hemel Hempstead all the way to Lands end, Cornwall. Overall it is 320.1 miles with the route I have planned on google maps.
UPDATE - I completed my cycle to Lands End... I have had a 7 day break and during that time have decided I wanted to continue my challenge. So I am now cycling back to Hemel Hempstead from Lands End. 320.1 miles over 14 days which works out as 23 miles again!
Thankyou so much for reading & please any donation will be very much appreciated by myself and the staff at the ambulance station.
