We stand for everyone affected by dementia to find a cure

Story

I have always wanted to do a Sky Dive, and there is no better reason to do something on a “bucket list “ than for charity (rather than just doing it to prove to myself that I can!).

As a Solicitor specializing in elderly client work, I regularly encounter families affected by Alzheimer's disease; it can cause much distress not only for the sufferer, but for the people around them, and can affect the lives of families for many years.

The charity is dedicated to not only researching a cure for this form of dementia, but also to providing advice and support to sufferers, families and carers. They do an amazing job.

With an ever-increasing aging population, we hear more and more about Alzheimer's and dementia generally - any of us could find ourselves affected by this dreadful disease, and I for one hope that one day a cure will be found.

All of  the Alzheimer's Charities desperately  need as much financial support as possible, and will do for many years to come. The firm I work for, Manners Pimblett Solicitors in Poynton, Cheshire, already have close connections to The Alzheimer's Society, and this Sky Dive is my way of making a small contribution to the crucial work of Alzheimer's Research UK.

I urge all of my family, friends, acquaintances and professional contacts (and anyone else who knows me!) to make a donation - however small - in support of my adventure for this worthwhile cause.

Oh, and feel free to come and watch me jump! The event will take place just outside Lancaster on Saturday 22nd September 2018 - please contact me for full details if you would like to be there: linda@mannerspimblett.co.uk.

Thank you.
