Hello everyone. 

At the end of last year on December 18th 2016 my wife (Lindsay) and I found out the most exciting news that we were expecting our first child....... amazing.  Then in February at only 14 weeks pregnant we found out that Lindsay has hodgkin lymphoma. (Blood Cancer)

It came as a massive shock as she wasn't feeling unwell just had a chesty cough. She went to the walk-in centre and as her heart rate was very high they asked her to go to the hospital for more tests and an X-ray. The X-ray came back and showed she has a mass on her chest, from that day we were admitted to hospital as they needed to do more tests to find out what the mass was. After lots of tears, anxiety, sleepless nights and bedside vigils on the 10th day after 4 blood transfusions, a lung drain, baby scans and a biopsy that was under general anasthetic which posed a risk to the baby, lots of discussions with the Doctors and consultants they confirmed it was hodgkin lymphoma. There was still some confusion as to whether we would be able to continue with the pregnancy...........

The baby is growing fine as far as we know, as we have a baby scan every month. We have had 5 scans so far.  We are now 24 weeks to date and we cant wait to meet our SUPER BABY.

Thankfully we have an amazing consultant and with his and all the staff @ Blackpool Victoria haematology units help, they started chemo right away. We have now had 4 chemos  and we have 8 more to go. All of them have been amazing in everything they have done for us so far!!


There has been many ups and downs on our journey so far, some of the downs have been when Lindsay's beautiful hair started falling out suddenly and in large handfuls, the muscle in her right eye has stopped working properly and has caused double vision so she has to wear an eye patch. Lindsay has also lost 1.5 stone in weight when pregnant due to the chemo.


Despite all the downs Lindsay has been the strongest most amazing person throughout the whole thing, she hasnt lost her wonderful sense of humour and still is helping and thinking of others before herself as always. Lindsay has been so positive from day one that we are going to beat this cancer and have an amazing strong beautiful baby.

Lindsay is an inspiration to me, she is the strongest person I know and I
Love her more than words can say.
