Hope and I have decided to run a 5k family fun run on the 30th July in Edinburgh to raise money for the Sick Kids Friends Foundation to thank them for the amazing support they gave us during Hopes time in hospital. 

Those that know us know that Hope was born with no hip sockets and at 3 months she had to have a 3hr operation on her hips to carve hip sockets, she spent a month in hospital and the sick kids foundation helped me and her dad with accommodation and support. She then spent 6 months in a cast and they helped us to get things like a bean bag that she needed for to support her. 

We then spent several years with monthly appointments before a second operation on her right hip at 3yrs old. Again we were helped with accommodation and support and then thankfully at 7yrs old we were told we need no more hospital visits.

Hope is now a member of a running club, loves to cycle and is a huge lover of sport. So without the sick kids she would never have walked let alone the other things she does. So this is our way of thanking them.
