A close relative of mine recently passed away due to cancer. There is no word to describe our feelings watching the disease eating away at him physically and mentally. That event made me realize I needed to care more about those around me and give back to the community. Macmillan then came to my attention as a deeply meaningful charity, which is why I decided to choose Macmillan to support. Here, cancer patients are provided with specialist health care, information and financial support. It also looks at the social, emotional and practical impact cancer can have, and campaigns for better cancer care.
