100Km Great Wall of China static bike challenge · 21 April 2020

With fundraising events cancelled and no clear indication of when we can open our shops or how long it will take them to return to normal trading, Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice anticipate a funding gap of £1.5m for this financial year.

Story

Sue Ryder Nurses and healthcare teams are always there for local people who are dying. We are all facing something we have never faced before which is why Sue Ryder Manorlands  is launching this appeal to make sure that we are still here.

Two colleagues from Sue Ryder Manorlands were unable this year to complete The Great Wall of China fundraising challenge.

So the staff  recreated  a challenge here at Sue Ryder Manorlands. Using a specialist static bike we planned to pedal or hand pedal 100Km to raise money for Sue Ryder Manorlands and show appreciation  for all the people out there supporting us.

Today 11th May we smashed our original target of 100 Km and pedalled 356.3KM

We observed social distancing and followed infection control guidelines at all times.
