Story

Hi, my name is Annabelle.

School had just broken up for the summer holidays and I wasn’t feeling 100% but I didn’t think anything about it. Me and my family went on holiday to Scotland for a week and then we knew something was wrong. I started drinking lots and eating less. We visited a zoo and I couldn’t walk for long and had to constantly stop. When we got home I was taken to the hospital and I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.

The reason I am fundraising for the bubble fund at QA hospital is to raise money for all the people who have helped me since being diagnosed and to raise awareness about type 1 diabetes in young children because not many people know about it and I wish I did.

Starting on the 6 month anniversary of being diagnosed (28th February) and finishing on the 9 month anniversary (28th May) me and my dad are going to walk/run 65 miles. We gave each letter of the alphabet a number, A=1, B=2 etc and we using the word Diabetes we ended up with 65!
