Ever-popular and attracting more supporters than ever, the national Brain Tumour Research Walk of Hope is back, taking place on Saturday 24th September 2022. Will you step forward?

Story

Please come join us on a walk this coming Saturday, September the 24th, starting at 10:00, to raise funds for Brain Tumour Research.

I chose Brain Tumour Research for two reasons. Firstly, because I was moved by the personal story of Mrs Faulkner after losing her beloved husband Rob, a fellow Perschorian. Secondly, because the cause does not receive the support I believe it warrants: in the UK, 16,000 people are diagnosed with a brain tumour each year, yet historically just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to brain tumours. The Walk of Hope is intended to help redress this imbalance.

The walk begins, and ends, at Pershore Abbey and follows a circuitous route (approx. 4.6 miles) around Pershore.

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.
