Meg Volunteers: Y Care International (ICS)

Y Care International: Intl Citizens Service · 31 December 2018 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
During the summer (2017) I will be volunteering overseas with ICS (International Citizen Service) in Togo, West Africa for 10 weeks. ICS is an overseas volunteering programme for 18-25 year olds, funded by the UK Government's Department for International Development. I will be working specifically with Y Care International which is one of the many incredible partners working with ICS.
Y Care International aim is to help vulnerable young people all over the world to unleash their potential skills and energy, to change their own lives - and the lives of others - for the better. Our mission is to create opportunities for young men and women that will allow them to fulfill their potential and play a full role in society.
Y Care International are one of the few organisations that work exclusively with young people. It is estimated that in developing countries 515 million young people are living on $2 a day which is one of the reasons why I have chosen to volunteer and make a difference this summer.
We achieve this by supporting young people with practical help, providing skills, training and information, and helping them secure fair access to the support they need. We will be helping young people to grow in confidence and find their place in society through encouragement, counselling, youth and community work.
By donating to my 'JustGiving' Page, you are allowing more volunteers to go overseas and make all the difference by contributing to and working with brilliant, active and inspirational organisations such as Y Care International.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
