My old man Mick Kearney was my hero, he rose himself from a junior soldier in the RAOC to the rank of Captain through his career, he spent 27 years defending the queen and country and he never got to enjoy his early retirement as he passed away at the age of 43.
This year I turned 43 and wanted to do something big to commemorate his life, the service he gave and to also pay my respects to him too for a charity that means a lot to me too, so this year I am raising money for the British Heart Foundation's research and I'd be so grateful for your support.
My target is £ 430.00 (43 his age when he passed and 0 as no more years followed)
The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives.
It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures.
£24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target. Thanks!
