Trek Sahara 2017 · 26 October 2017 to 31 October 2017 ·

Since 1988, St Luke’s has been providing specialist, palliative care and support to local people, supporting them in ways which go beyond the scope and funding of the NHS. Our support begins from the moment someone is diagnosed, through to palliative care and ultimately end of life care.

Story

St Lukes Hospice has always been close to my heart ever since my Auntie Sharon spent the last weeks of her life there back in 2010. The care that she received was superb and when my Grandad was diagnosed with cancer back in March this year we knew there was only one place we wanted him to spend his last few days.

When I saw the email about the Sahara Trek I couldn't help but be intrigued... after turning 30 it seemed the right time to take on a important challenge, and one that could help raise money for St Lukes and go a little way to saying 'Thank You' for the care they have so fabulously given to my family.

Over the next 12 months I will be taking on fundraising tasks to achieve the £1600 target set by St Lukes and I appreciate any support you can give me in this. Just to put into perspective how important reaching this target is, £1600 is just a fifth of what is needed DAILY to keep the hospice running.

Thank you for any donation and support you can give. Your money really will be going towards something fantastic! Wish me luck for Trek Sahara 2017!
