Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am cycling the Ride 100 in memory of my big brother, Peter Sowerby, who passed away on 5th April, aged 51, from prostate cancer. When we swam the Serpentine 2 miles in September 2017, my brother said 'well that's 2 out of the 3 of the London Classic Challenge done. Hopefully i can complete it in July, or if not they might just give me the medal when I'm 6 foot under.' I told him not to be daft but sadly he's not here to complete his challenge.
I got my place in February but didn't even think to mention it to him. Having run the London Marathon on April, I can now complete the Ride 100 for my bro.
My brother wanted to increase awareness of prostate cancer, how easy it is to have a blood test when you're in your 40s, if your mum has had breast cancer - you're more at risk, it's not just an old man's disease.
Thank you for supporting me xx
