NSPCC's Virtual Book Reading by Dr Chris Naunton

NSPCC London is raising money for NSPCC

Virtual Book Reading by Dr Chris Naunton · 12 October 2022

We’re the only charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands. That’s why we help children who’ve been abused to rebuild their lives, we protect children at risk, and we find the best ways of preventing child abuse from ever happening.

Story

Dr Chris Naunton, an Egyptologist, writer and broadcaster, is to host an online reading of his new children’s book in aid of the NSPCC.

Dr Naunton, who lives and grew up in Sutton, is to take part in an online story telling session of his new children’s book –Cleopatra Tells All – at 4pm on 12 October and is asking people to make a donation to the NSPCC in return.

Published by Thames & Hudson, Cleopatra Tells All was released on 2 June and tells the story of the politically savvy, multilingual, cosmopolitan ruler of Alexandria, Cleopatra, accompanied by brilliant and witty illustrations.

Finally able to tell her own version of events, she will have readers reeling at the remarkable skill with which she raised an army of mercenaries to counter her bullying brother and secure the support of two of the world’s most powerful men – Julius Caesar and Mark Antony.

After the reading, there will be a chance for budding Egyptologists to ask questions.
