In October 2019 I lost my Mum after a brave battle with cancer, an incredibly challenging time for me and my family but also a time that I look back on and feel proud about how hard mum fought, but also enduring fondness for the wonderful staff at St Catherine’s Hospice in Scarborough for the incredible kindness shown to us all.

Now they need our help !! Covid has hit their fundraising hard and I want to help them in whatever way I can. 

So......Namaskara! Welcome to Expedition Makalu

In April 2022, Di & me are doing a 21-day, heart pumping, jaw-dropping Himalayan adventure. Although beautiful scenery,  this trip is going to push us all as we trek over high passes, gaze in awe at majestic peaks (including Everest), to get to our goal - Makalu base camp !! 
This is not a normal adventure, very demanding and will take us far out of our comfort zone....especially with my little legs.

I’ll be taking a photo of mum with me, and hopefully a pic of her will be taken up to the Makalu summit by one of the climbers. I can’t help but smile, as mum hated flying and heights ! I’d be in so much trouble !!!
