Priory's 500 Laps of Portsea Island for QA Staff Thank You Appeal · 9 March 2021

Portsmouth Hospitals Charity supports the work of Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust to help enhance patient care and support staff welfare. Funding a range of projects including improving existing facilities, purchasing new & equipment, staff training & research & innovation.

Story

Throughout the past year the staff and students at Priory School have been keen to show their support for our wonderful local NHS staff.

Last summer we held a whole school fundraising event with students running multiple marathons over 3 days which raised £3000 for the Portsmouth Hospitals Charity 'Thank You Appeal'.

We are again getting active to support this fantastic appeal which provides much needed support and wellbeing items for the amazing staff at local NHS centers and QA Hospital. As part of our in school drive to get staff and students active we are undertaking a challenge to complete 500 laps of Portsea Island throughout March. That's approximately 12,000 Kms! Staff are recording their steps each day as well as distances covered by running, cycling, kayaking etc.

We would love it if you could sponsor us in our efforts to complete this challenge and help support a very worthy local charity. Every penny counts and we are grateful for whatever you can donate.

The Thank You Appeal supports local NHS staff who are working around the clock in difficult circumstances from doctors and nurses to porters and cleaners.

Thanks to your kind donations throughout 2020 we were able to support staff at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust through a number of projects and initiatives as they faced some of the most challenging circumstances. We were able to fund boxes of items to boost morale during their shift, water coolers, tools to support staff mental health plus much more
