Mencap wants a world where people with a learning disability gain an equal right to choice opportunity and respect. We believe that support for the families and carers of people with a learning disability is vital to achieving our vision

Story

I have never run a race before since leaving school, so this will be a challenge. I have run 5k before in practice but not 10k. Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

There are now 4 of us entering. I will be doing 10k.

Asha, 11 years old and Layla, 6 years, will be doing 5k along with Tara. Tara is actually the best runner but currently recovering from injury so will be pushing herself and also keeping Asha and Layla company.

About the charity, to be honest, I didn't really know much about this charity before as I mainly wanted to attempt to run 10k for a worthy cause but now I have researched it a bit, I can see it is a genuine charity that does good work for those suffering from mental health / learning difficulties that probably affects almost every family.

All donations made on this page will go straight to the charity and you can also reclaim gift aid.
