Story

Hey guys and gals!

So as you all know, on September 30th, I had a freak accident at home. After getting up in the night to go to the loo, I tripped over our beloved Labrador and fell down the stairs, top to bottom.

Me being me, I didn't think the worst and went back to bed - thinking I'd be fine in the morning! Well, I wasn't... And that's where the nightmare started.

As the majority of you have seen by now, I'm wearing a Halo that should mean my neck will fuse itself back together and I won't have any life long damage. Now don't get me wrong, I understand and appreciate how insanely lucky I've been - not a day goes by where I'm not thankful! However... You know when you are feeling really down and you're poorly and you just want to pamper yourself, wash your hair, make yourself look nice? Well, I can't do that. For 3 weeks, I couldn't wash my hair, I can't put anything on my face due to infection control around the pins in my head... I'm probably going to have scars afterwards also.

So, as well all know my style before the accident included half a shaved head, pretty much. Well we are going to shave the lot off (as best we can with this contraption on my head!) so I've one less thing to worry about during my recovery. I want to raise as much as money as possible for the East of England Ambulance Service, because they made the worst situation of my life bearable. Neil and Mark - the first crew to attend and the last ones to leave me, were an absolute credit to the service and made me laugh (even thought it hurt so much!!) and listened to me and acted fast. They were amazing. So were the second and third crew!! But these guys stood out and I want to give something back.

I've already called and complimented them and sent them a card to say Thank you, but it would be really nice to be able to raise as much money as possible for these amazing volunteers. The NHS really is wonderful and I'm so grateful for the kindness and genuine first class care they provided me with that day.

I will update you all with the date and time this is taking place so you can come down and support me should you want to and this will be at The North Street Tavern.

Thanks in advance to all who donate! :)
