24 hour Tennis Marathon · 5 November 2021

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever. Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.

My name is Richard Baker and I have been coaching tennis for over 20 years. My family have been dramatically affected by this disease. Both my Nan's suffered from severe Alzheimer's and have passed away. Recently my uncle was diagnosed in his early 60's and is now in a specialist care home for his condition.

I wanted to do something to raise awareness and money to help find a cure; and to support people and their families struggling with this disease.

On Friday 5th November at 10am, I will be playing in a 24 hour Tennis Marathon. This will be held at David Lloyd Epsom.  Supporters can book in time slots to play with me in either doubles or singles, at minimum of £50 donation per person. Supporters can also donate any amount they want towards the event.

Thank you all for your support!
