Phoenix Suzuki NC500 Cycling Challenge · 2 October 2017

We help the babies, children and young people treated at Scotland's largest children's hospital, the Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow. We fund medical equipment, research, play programmes and family support services to ensure that our young patients receive the best possible care and experience.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Loving the Scottish Highlands, I've accepted a challenge which has meant a complete lifestyle change as I was not a cyclist beforehand. However, I have now bought a bike and spent 206 hours in the 'not so comfy' saddle covering over 3200 miles and over 162,000 feet of climbs so far. The Guardian article called one section (the Bealach na bal )of my 516 mile route "The Holy Grail, the toughest and wildest climb in Britain".

The plan is to cover the mountainous route from Inverness around the North West crossing John O'Groats and back down through Dornoch returning to the start point in just 5 days. That means battling wind and slopes to average 103 miles per day each day!

Your support would help keep me motivated to provide a donation to the great team at Glasgow Children's Hospital!

You can keep up to date on training and the challenge itself which starts on 4th October on our facebook page @phoenixcar
