Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am running the London Marathon in 2023 to raise money for the Brain Tumour Research charity, to raise money against a disease that is sadly too close to my heart.

In 2000, my dad Mark passed away at the age of 38 from a glioblastoma tumour on his brain and sadly my sister Paige was diagnosed in December 2021 with the same tumour at the age of 25.

Currently, just 1% of government spending is on brain tumour research.

Paige is currently going through treatment, and for someone so young showing so much fight and belief, it is truly my inspiration to do my bit. I know she is going to kick cancers a**

I am aiming to complete the marathon in sub 4 hours, and with the help of you all, I aim to raise at least £3500 to help the charity in their fight against this horrific disease.

Understandably, the LM is some time away so during that time I will be running more events to try and help spread awareness and get myself in running shape for the big one! I will update my schedule in due course.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, any donation is greatly appreciated.

Thank You!

Ryan

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.
