Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'll be walking 1 mile with my family on June 11th, at Rufford Park.

I had a ruptured brain haemorrhage and stroke on 12th June 2011. I wasn't expected to survive the day and members of my family came to the hospital ready to say goodbye.

However, I'm here to tell the tale (not that I remember much of it) thanks to the dedicated care and support I received in hospital and at home.

I've had to learn to walk, talk and everything in between, all over again. It's been painful, frustrating, and at times, quite difficult but I have made great progress. By taking part in this walk, I hope to raise awareness of Stroke Association, show the importance of rehabilitation following a stroke and maybe inspire others to reach their goals. It's a long time since I last walked a mile but I'm determined to do it!
