Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
At the age of 60 my dad Peter Marsden, was diagnosed with terminal Lung Cancer. They first gave him anything from 2 weeks to 2 months to live, yet he fought bravely for 18 months. My dads last wish was to pass away at home with his family, Marie Curie would help us by sitting with him at night, allowing us to sleep and then when it was his time they came to get us so he was surrounded by his family.
During dad's battle his mantra would be to see the daffodils - this he managed to do twice, they had just come into the shops the week he started to loose his battle so I managed to buy out the shop and dad was surrounded by daffodils at the end. Marie Curie's logo is 'The Daffodil' this meaning it's the perfect charity for us to support. My family wanted to do something for them after they gave and did so much for us.
This made me and Eric decide to do something big. We have never run before in our lives but decided to run, and run a lot. Therefore, in the next 6 months we will be doing the following:
4th & 5th November 2017: 10k, then following day 1/2 marathon in Florida
3th-14th January 2018: 1/2 marathon, next day full marathon, then 5 days later another 1/2 marathon all in the Florida sun and humidity!
We are definitely mad and set ourselves a hard challenge but we are determined to succeed for my dad Peter Marsden and all the others, family, friends & clients that suffer from this horrible disease. We thank each and everyone of you for your support and donations!
