Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I’m really excited to tell you that I've been selected to volunteer overseas with Raleigh International on a 3-month International Citizen Service (ICS) placement.

ICS works alongside communities that have specifically requested their help. It also aims to inspire young people in the UK and overseas to become active citizens who are passionate about long term community development.

So in Feb 2020, I'll have left for Nepal! But first, I need to raise £800 towards the work of Raleigh and their ICS partners. The funds we raise will go towards enabling the overall costs of ICS, ensuring they can to continue sending youth volunteers to the developing world.

I decided to do it because I know that ICS & Raleigh will enable me to leave a lasting impact in disadvantaged communities. It will involve staying with a host family for the duration of the placement & implementing water and sanitation facilities whilst raising vital hygiene awareness within the local communities of Nepal, from schoolchildren to community leaders.

I'll be fundraising in a host of different ways, so keep an eye out for updates on my JustGiving page to stay up-to-date with how I manage it!

Know that any contribution from you will make a real and tangible difference to the lives of people in developing countries. As ICS is government-funded, my place on the programme is already paid for (visas, flights, travel and medical insurance, vaccinations, food; the lot!).  This is because ICS believes in the positive impact of young people and wants to ensure they are offered an opportunity to change their lives and the lives of others. 100% of the funds I raise here will support ICS partners to run the programme effectively & contributing to their vital work.
