Story
In September last year my son Zac..... was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes just days before his 6th birthday. It was a huge shock to all our systems and a complete change of life for us all. Even more so Zac who took the news like an absolute legend , along with the help from his big brother Zander. We couldn't have been more proud of them and how well they helped each other through it.
JDRF had been so helpful as we spent the first few days in hospital learning about diabetes. The provided us with a pack and in the pack it contained a RUFUS THE BEAR. Which is a bear that has patches all over him and this indicates locations of Blood Glucose checks and Insulin administration sites. Zac took great pleasure in teaching Zander what to do using this.
A Big special Mention to the staff at the Glasgow Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Diabetes Ward. Who are an absolute extraordinary bunch thank you for all your support also.
So in order to raise funds me and my brother Grant Quigley , Will be running the Edinburgh Marathon on the 29th of may 2022.
Raising Funds will help JDRF to continue to advance and research in order to give other children and adults with Type 1 diabetes a better life.
