Story
Glass Door runs London’s largest emergency winter night shelter network, providing a safe, warm place to sleep for up to 100 men and women a night in partnership with churches across West London. Year-round, men and women with nowhere else to turn can find drop-in centres during the day and the support they need to end their homelessness. Glass Door night shelters save lives, and the support services help change lives.
Our group from St Peter's, including Rosie the Labrador, will be sleeping out (in Chelsea!) on October 6.
St Peter's has a longstanding connection with Glass Door and in particular its base at Rivercourt Methodist Church in King Street which provides the shelter on Sundays during the winter months, where several church members volunteer and there's a rota for roasting an awful lot of potatoes for the Sunday evening meal.
We hope that you will feel able to contribute to our fund raising efforts, especially if you are looking for a homeless charity to which to contribute this Christmas!
