Story
Sultan Khan will be joined by a number of Luton Council staff and councillors to run for #TeamLuton in the 2019 Love Luton 10k and Half Marathon.
This year the team are raising money for the Luton Curry Kitchen which supports the needy and homeless of Luton.
The Curry Kitchen is a partnership project with Community Interest Luton and Discover Islam Luton initiated in May 2015. During this period homelessness was on the raise across UK and family poverty was increasing locally. As a community we felt we needed to do something to care and support one another during difficult times.
The Curry Kitchen provides 100 hot meals freshly cooked at Venue Central to those in need as well as delivering hot meals to various local housing shelters every week. The Curry Kitchen is able to provide this service only through the generous support of the community and local business and community organisations.
This weekly hot meal is providing a vital lifeline of food and friendship to many residents in Luton. Since May 2015 over 25,500 hot meals have been distributed to those in need across Luton.
