Summits Not Suicides.
Between July 24th and August 6th this year, 2022, Ocean and I did our our most gnarly challenge yet, in aid of the Samaritans.
In15 days we climbed back-to-back 7 4000m+ epic summits across the alps. In total this was12000 vertical meters and 124km. We aptly starting on the 24th of July - Samaritans’ Awareness Day.
So often someone close by to us, a family member, a friend or a colleague – often unbeknownst to us – are struggling with mental health & for some even suicide is an answer!
Suicide is the biggest killer of young men aged 16-24 and men in their 40s and 50s have had the highest suicide rates of any age or gender. Ocean and I represent these two age groups.
For those with no-where else to turn the Samaritans are there 24/7. Listening. Caring. Supporting.
Each £5 donated funds 1 potentially lifesaving call.
We aim to fund 2400 calls to the Samaritans by raising £11,000 for the 12,000m we climbed - so we still have some way to go.
Your donation is greatly appreciated by us and those families affected by men and women facing mental stress.
