The Lapland Husky Trek is our latest fundraiser for the Highland Hospice and the one which will undoubtedly challenge us the most!! We have no doubt it will push us well out with our comfort zones, but it is sure to be a remarkable adventure, one which we will remember forever.
Our trek will have many amazing highlights including navigating our team of huskies across Lapland, learning to control our sleds, sleeping under the stars in tents, hopefully catching a glimpse of the Northern Lights and finally getting to stay in the famous Ice Hotel on our last night!
Our possible ‘not so’ amazing highlights, will be peeing behind trees, getting to grips with no washing facilities and learning to live with one another’s bad habits!! A true test of our friendship 🤣
A wee note from Suzi… 7 years ago I lost my first husband, Roddy Matheson, to cancer. The Highland Hospice enabled him to stay at home during his illness, supporting us in our own home until the day he passed away. They then helped me on the bereavement side and are there for me whenever I need them.
I will be eternally grateful to the Highland Hospice for all they did for us and I continue to raise as much as I can for them to help them continue the amazing work they do. In 2019 I took part in Strictly Inverness, I danced my socks off and raised thousands for this amazing charity. Then in September this year I joined #TeamHighlandHospice to undertake a 100ft free air abseil from the iconic Kessock Bridge!
A wee note from Jenny… Sadly very few people are untouched by cancer in their lives. Over the last 10 years I have seen friends and family suffer from cancer and heard how their local hospice has provided vital support during the most difficult times. Living in the Highlands I have heard many stories about the great work of The Highland Hospice and have met many lovely people who work there. I am delighted to be able to take part in this challenging but exciting fundraiser and hope to raise lots of funds to allow them to continue the great work they do.
Please support us in our new fundraising effort, every penny raised will aid the delivery of hospice services across the Highlands, thank you!
